Mom’s Picks: Top 25 Best New Strollers for 2016

cover2-300x350

Last year many companies introduced a lot of great new models that I absolutely loved, so I thought there was no way this year could be any better. Well, I was wrong! The new strollers for 2016 absolutely blew me away!

Luckily, this year I was able to attend the ABC Kids Expo 2015 and see all of the new models firsthand.

There was so much innovation and style! A lot of companies presented interesting collaborations with famous designers bringing us closer to high fashion. And you know me, I love fashion! I also saw a lot of companies using high-end materials and fabrics for strollers that are usually used for luxury products.

Matching accessories are becoming more and more popular and are often included. The limited collections are a new trendy thing to do. Some of the matching diaper bags are now made out of high-quality materials and might be more expensive than your regular purse!

As you can imagine it was a totally different experience seeing all of the new models before they are even released. Some of the prototypes were not even final! It looks like companies are making little improvements up until the very last day before the production.

I tried to take as many photos as I possibly could so you wouldn’t miss any details. I had also planned on shooting a lot of videos, but unfortunately, I lost my voice on the second day of the Expo. I mean, what are the chances of losing your voice for four days out of the year when this is the only four days when you REALLY need it? Story of my life! Oh…

On the bright side, I did bring a measuring tape and got all of the seat and wheel measurements. Everybody looked at me like I was totally crazy when I pulled it out, but nobody said anything because most representatives didn’t know the wheel sizes and the seat dimensions of the strollers they were selling.

How do they sell this stuff? So, aside from the video fiasco, I hope my blog has the MOST information about new models for 2016 you can find.

With so many new companies and so many new products, it was very hard to narrow it down to only 25 strollers. I had to concentrate on innovation, style, and practicality because there were a lot of boring models that I couldn’t even remember by the end of the day.

Since most of the new models are not out yet, I can only give you a short overview of the main features of each of them. But, as soon as they get released I will post an update. Sign up for my blog to get the latest info on the new releases.

1. GB Pockit -$250

Let’s start with the most unique model called GB Pockit. This compact lightweight stroller folds to the smallest size I’ve EVER seen! It’s so compact, that you can even put it in your purse.

GB Pockit is a perfect stroller for traveling and public transit. Frequent flyers will be happy to know that it fits into an overhead on ANY plane and you can take it with you as carry-on luggage on ANY airline.

It even has been named the ‘world’s smallest folding stroller’ by the Guinness World Records. The folded dimensions are only 12″ x 14″ x 7″.  Despite the compact size, I was pleasantly surprised to see a roomy seat and a decent basket.

The basket can handle up to 11 lbs, while the whole stroller weighs only 9 lbs. The GB Pockit is available for around $199 and comes in six beautiful colors. Here is my full overview»

2. Austlen Entourage – $849

Austlen Entourage is a convertible stroller that has a unique extendable frame allowing you to carry a LOT of stuff. The humongous underneath basket alone can handle up to 65 lbs!

The durable frame can handle a combined weight including seats up to 150 lbs. What other stroller can do that? This amazing extendable frame can be adjusted on the go with just one motion.

It can also convert from a single to a double stroller with the addition of a second seat, infant car seat, platform rider, or a sit-n-stand. This stroller is not only functional, it is also very stylish.

I absolutely love the color combinations of the liner and the seat fabrics. The leather detailing of the swing-away bumper bar and the handlebar add to the overall stylish look. The main seat can accommodate a child from birth and up to 50 lbs.

You will enjoy features like a large canopy, one-hand recline, adjustable handlebar, adjustable leg rest, bassinet-like environment, all-wheel suspension, flip-flop-friendly brakes, and easy fold.

With so many features I expected the fold to be super bulky, but it’s not! It’s very compact. The Austlen Entourage is retailing for around $849 and comes in two beautiful colors.  Here is my full overview»

3. Nuna Tavo – $349

Nuna has introduced a new model called Tavo. This model is very similar to the popular Nuna Mixx but is more compact, lighter, and less expensive. While it doesn’t have a reversible seat, it turns into a travel system without any adapters.

The award-winning Nuna Pipa infant car seat securely clicks right into the frame of the Tavo. I am absolutely in love with Tavo’s canopy! It’s huge, it has a pop-out sunvisor and it also has a zipped-in ‘dream drape’ that will completely cover your child even when the seat is fully reclined. One of the best canopies on the market!

The recline goes to an almost flat position suitable for a newborn. The seat can accommodate a child up to 50 lbs. The Tavo is full of great features like an adjustable handlebar, large basket, roomy seat, swing-away bumper bar, adjustable leg rest, flip-flop-friendly brake, all-wheel suspension, easy fold, and a large easy to access basket.

This is one of my FAVORITE strollers for 2016. It’s very stylish, practical and affordable. This could be your ONLY stroller. If you get it as a travel system with Nuna Pipa, this will be all you need to get you from birth and through the toddler years. It retails for $349 and comes in four colors. 4. iCoo Acrobat Travel System – $899

I was very impressed when I saw the iCoo Acrobat for the first time at the ABC Kids Expo 2015. The stylish copper frame and the leather seat liner screamed luxury.

So, I was absolutely ecstatic when the iCoo sent me the Acrobat travel system for testing. The set included an Acrobat stroller and iCoo ProSafe 35 infant car seat.

The Acrobat is a mid-range stroller that is somewhere in between umbrella and full-size models. It has all the features of the full-size model but is lighter and more compact.

At the same time, the wheel size is a little smaller than on your standard full-size model. The roomy seat has a deep recline that goes to an almost flat position and can accommodate a child from birth and up to 50 lbs. The canopy folds in front of the child providing great coverage.

It also features a telescoping handlebar, a large basket, an adjustable leg rest, a large peekaboo window, a large storage pocket, an all-wheel suspension, and a one-hand fold. All this goodness weighs only 20 lbs.

Another cool thing about Acrobat is that the larger wheels are located in the front of the stroller instead of the back like on most models. This creates better maneuverability and a smoother push over the rough terrain. Why nobody else is doing it?

Anyway, after using it on a daily basis for a few weeks, I can tell you that it’s not only stylish but also a very practical model. If you get it as a travel system it could be your ONLY stroller because there will be no need to downsize.

And with that high price tag, it probably should be your only stroller. LOL. The travel system retails for around $699 on Amazon. You can also get it as a stand-alone stroller for only $399. It comes with a footmuff, removable bumper bar, and rain cover.  Here is my full review»

5. Mountain Buggy Cosmopolitan Geo Luxury Edition – $899

Mountain Buggy made a big splash with their new Cosmopolitan Geo Luxury Edition. When I so the new Geo Edition I couldn’t believe it was the same as the original Cosmopolitan model. It looked completely different to me.

This is a very sleek model with luxurious detailing, sophisticated style, and more features. The pattern on the fabric looks just like Louis Vuitton’s signature checkerboard pattern. I am sure people will think this is a Louis Vuitton stroller.

The Geo has a reversible seat that unlike the original Cosmopolitan does NOT convert into a flat bed for a newborn. Instead, it comes with a second set of fabrics that you can use with the frame of the seat to create a full-size carrycot.

I like this option better because you get a better quality bassinet with a hard bottom. The seat has a deep one-hand lever recline and can accommodate a child from birth and up to 44 lbs. It weighs 26 lbs with the seat and 27 lbs with a carrycot.

The never-flat wheels can tackle any terrain and together with all-wheel suspension, they provide a smooth ride. It also features a flip-flop-friendly brake, a swing-away bumper bar, an adjustable handlebar, an adjustable leg rest, and a large basket. The fold is very easy and compact. It has an automatic lock and standing fold.

I can actually see myself with Geo strolling down the street dressed up all stylish with a hat and sunglasses. This model btw comes with a matching diaper bag that looks cute but would look much cuter if it had that checkerboard pattern.

It would be almost like a Louis Vuitton diaper bag. Who doesn’t want a Loui? This stroller is retailing around for $899 and comes only in one color. Here is my full overview»

6. Bumbleride Speed – $549

As you know I am a big fan of Bumbleride strollers, so I couldn’t wait to see the new jogger called Speed. This is a little more hardcore than the Indie model and is designed for serious joggers.

In the jogger world, it’s probably comparable to BOB Revolution Flex which is the most popular jogging stroller. The Speed rolls on large air-filled tires that together with all-wheel suspension provide a very smooth ride.

It also features a large canopy, large basket, easy one-step fold, deep recline, adjustable handlebar, and roomy seat. The seat can accommodate a child from birth and up to 50 lbs. Another interesting feature of the Speed is the eco-friendly fabric of the seat which uses 18 recycled bottles in production.

This buggy weighs only 23 lbs which is a couple of pounds lighter than the competition. Speaking of competition, if you compare Speed to other popular joggers I think it will probably match the performance, but definitely win in style category.

Of course, I would have to test it first. The Speed is retailing for around $549 and comes in three colors. The air pump is included. I did see a nice matching footmuff, but I think you would need to order it separately. Here is my full overview»

7. Bumbleride Indie – $529

The Indie model is getting a little facelift for 2016. The canopy has changed and now is attached to the frame so it doesn’t fold in front of a child like before. The fold is much easier and more intuitive.

The recline will be much smoother and easier to operate. They’ve also added a front-wheel suspension so Indie has all-wheel suspension now and an automatic lock.

The manual lock was a pain in the behind so I am happy about that. It also will include an air pump instead of an infant car seat adapter. I definitely think that an air pump is more useful because everybody will have to buy one anyway.

The fabrics will change a little and be even more eco-friendly than before. The new Indie 2016 is retailing for around $529. Here is my full overview of the updates. And here is my full review of the older Indie model.

8. Mamas & Papas Urbo2 Rose Gold – $700

Mamas&Papas Urbo2 Rose Gold Limited Edition was one of the most memorable models I’ve seen at the ABC Kids Expo 2015. Yes, it’s to die for or to have another child for! LOL.

There will be only 300 of them available in the US. How sad is that? The Rose gold frame, wheels, and finishes together with the leather bumper bar and handlebar make it look like a piece of art or jewelry rather than a stroller. The matching bassinet is the icing on the cake.

Because Urbo2 is one of the celebrities’ favorites, I think that this Rose Gold Edition will fly away from the shelves. LOL. Fortunately, it’s available right NOW for around $700.

Hurry, there are only a few strollers left. Here is my full review of the regular Urbo2 and here is my full overview of the Rose Gold Edition»

9. Mamas & Papas Liberty London Collaboration – $699

Another exciting collection that Mamas & Papas presented at the ABC Kids Expo 2015 was Liberty London. Liberty London has inspired shoppers with their unique style since 1875.

This beautiful collaboration between Mamas & Papas and Liberty London includes Urbo2 and Armadillo Flip XT models as well as matching bassinets, diaper bags, cold-weather footmuffs, blankets, dolls, and reversible seat liners.

Thankfully, this is NOT a limited edition. The Urbo2 is retailing for around $699, the bassinet for around $249, and the diaper bag is around $169. Here is my full overview»

10. Mamas & Papas Donna Wilson 3 Bears Edition – $600

The Mamas & Papas Donna Wilson 3 Bear collection is another great collaboration between the two. As you know, I am a big fan of Donna Wilson’s magical characters and whimsical patterns, so I was very excited to see it.

This collection includes Armadillo Flip XT and Armadillo City models as well as a matching bassinet, reversible liner, diaper bag, and a footmuff.

This is NOT a limited edition so you would be able to get it as soon as it becomes available. I don’t have the exact price yet, but judging by the previous collaboration the Urbo2 should retail for around $600 and the bassinet around $260. Here is my full overview»

11. UPPABaby G-Link  – $499

One of the exciting new modes presented at the ABC Kids Expo 2015 was G-Link. This is the first double umbrella stroller from Uppababy. It’s very similar to the popular G-Luxe 205 model but comes as a double.

What I really like about it is that it can easily accommodate older toddlers as well as infants. The seats are very roomy with high canopies so your older toddlers will be comfortable. And, at the same time, there is a deep recline, soft headrest, and nap-on mesh footsie for your newborns.

Whether you have twins or a second child, the G-Link will help you roll through it. While the seats are very roomy the width of the stroller is pretty narrow at 30″.

For comparison, G-Luxe model is 19″ wide so you might expect the double version to be closer to 40″. The narrow footprint is perfect for busy city streets and tight spaces.

The follow-the-sun canopy with a huge pop-out SPF 50+ sunvisor will provide your child with plenty of sun protection. The compact fold and a light weight of 24.5 lbs will make traveling a breeze. This model comes in three colors and retails for around $499

12. Mutsy Nexo – $299

Mutsy, a Dutch company that has been creating strollers since 1937, has just introduced their new lightweight stroller Nexo. The Nexo has the same cool modern design as their Mutsy Igo and Mutsy Evo but is a little more compact, lighter, and less expensive.

Just like iCoo Acrobat, this is a mid-range model that has all the features of a full-size stroller but is narrower and has smaller wheels than a full-size. It has a deep one-hand recline and can accommodate a child from birth and up to 50 lbs.

It also features a telescoping handlebar, large basket, adjustable leg rest, all-wheel suspension, and flip-flop-friendly brake.

The fold is also easy and compact. It also has a travel system option and works with Maxi-Cosi infant car seats. The only thing I would improve is the canopy.

I would like to see a larger sunvisor or maybe a ‘follow-the-sun’ option. Overall, I like Nexo’s design and think it could be your only stroller. The Nexo comes in two colors and is available now for only $299.

13. GB Lyfe Travel System – $349

GB has been very busy creating new strollers. One of their new models presented at the ABC Kids Expo 2015 was the GB Lyfe travel system that comes with the Asana35 AP infant car seat. The Lyfe stroller is very similar to BG Evoq, but the seat can also turn into a bassinet without any additional fabric kits.

It also features a large canopy with a mesh panel, removable swing-away bumper bar, rear-wheel suspension, a very large basket, and never-flat EVA wheels. The fold is very easy and you can fold it with the seat attached.

Since this is a very simple model, it doesn’t have some of the things like adjustable leg rest or adjustable handlebar. The fold is also super bulky because the frame of the seat sticks far out.

This is a very basic and practical model that can be used from birth and up to 50 lbs. Where else can you get the whole travel system with the reversible seat stroller for only $349!?

Quality wise it’s much better than Graco travel systems. It retails for around $349 and comes with a cup holder and a bumper bar. Here is my full overview»

14. GB Maris – $799

GB Maris is a new full-size reversible-seat stroller introduced at the ABC Kids Expo 2015. GB positioned it as a luxury model with a unique futuristic design. It can be also turned into a pram with a matching bassinet or a travel system with a GB Idan infant car seat.

It has a lot of great features parents will love like a large canopy, a one-step flip-flop-friendly brake with a color indicator, a large basket, a one-hand lever recline, a swing-away bumper bar, all-wheel suspension, and an adjustable leg rest.

The fold is very easy and compact with the seat and the frame folding in half. You can fold it with the seat attached facing any direction. There is an automatic lock and a standing fold.

It rolls four EVA wheels with 7″ wheels in the front and 8″ wheels in the back. I would like to see larger wheels since this is a full-size model. The non-adjustable handlebar is another drawback.

To be honest, I didn’t get that luxury feel from Maris. There were no leather finishes, the fabrics were very basic and the frame with the handlebar felt very plasticy. Don’t get me wrong, I do like this model and I think the design is unique and interesting, but I just don’t know if I like it for $799.

15. Rachel Zoe x Quinny and Maxi-Cosi Collection – $899

One of the most luxurious collections at the ABC Kids Expo 2105 was Rachel Zoe for Quinny and Maxi-Cosi. This collection has been inspired by the jetsetter lifestyle and is made using only premium materials.

We didn’t expect anything less! The combination of cognac leather with oversized gold detailing and contrasting black and white fabrics make it look like pieces of art rather than baby gear.

For those who don’t know, Rachel Zoe is one of the best celebrity stylists. She recently had her own closing line and became a mom. Since Rachel has always been a big fan of Quinny and Maxi-Cosi products, she also decided to partner with them to create a cool fashionable baby gear collection.

This collection is available right now for $220 – $899 and comes in one color combination. It includes a Quinny Moodd stroller, a Maxi-Cosi Mico Max 30 and Maxi Cosi Pria 85 car seats, and a Quinny Diaper Bag.

16. Quinny Reversible Seat Jogger – $699

After seeing the success of Bugaboo Runner and Baby Orbit O2, Quinny also decided to make a stylish reversible seat jogger. Unfortunately, I don’t have the name of this model, but I know it’s a fixed-wheel jogger with a reversible seat. I’ve also heard that it might be using the Quinny Moodd frame.

The seat has the same recline positions in both modes and can accommodate a child from birth up to 50 lbs. It also features a hand brake, a large canopy with a pop-out sunvisor, a telescoping handlebar, adjustable leg rest, an all-wheel suspension, and a padded 5-point harness.

The fold is super bulky, but it’s very common for fixed-wheel joggers. It will be available in fall 2016 and will retail for around $699

I found a quick video overview. The quality is not the best, but at least you can see how it reclines and folds.

17. Peg Perego Book Cross – $499

The Book Cross is a new all-terrain stroller from Peg Perego. What makes this model very attractive is that it also has a light weight of only 22 lbs, a compact one-hand fold, and the ability to turn into a travel system with an infant car seat or a pram with a bassinet. The roomy seat has a deep one-hand recline and can accommodate a newborn or a tall toddler up to 50 lbs.

The Book Cross is full of great features like an adjustable leg rest, an adjustable handlebar with a hand brake, an easy-to-access large basket, and a large canopy with a peekaboo window. It folds like a book in half with the folded seat inside. There is also an automatic lock and a standing fold.

It rolls on large never flat tires with 8 ball bearings that together with all-wheel suspension will provide your little one with a smooth ride. This is a great stroller for outdoor adventures. I think it’s a serious competition for the beloved City Mini GT. The Book Cross comes in three colors and is retail for around $499

18. Peg Perego Pliko Mini Twin – $399

The Pliko Mini Twin is a double side-by-side new umbrella stroller from Peg Perego. This is a double version of their Pliko Mini model. Honestly, I’ve been never a huge fan of the Pliko Mini model because I found the maneuverability to be not so great compared to other umbrella models.

That being said, I am not sure how the Mini Twin handles the terrain since I was only testing it on a flat surface without any passengers. The quality of the Pliko Mini is also not very high in my opinion, but I hope it has been improved in the Pliko Twin.

Anyway, let’s talk about the features. The Pliko Mini Twin model has a lot of great things going on like adjustable handlebars, adjustable leg rests, and large canopies. Each seat has a deep one-hand lever recline that goes to almost a flat position suitable for a newborn. BTW, it does NOT have a travel system option. The seats are very roomy with plenty of room for an older toddler.

It has a very compact one-hand fold and a carry handle on the side for easy transportation. It also features an automatic lock and a standing fold. While the wheels are not very big only 5.5″, there are ball bearings in the front wheels and all-wheel suspension.

The Pliko Mini Twin does look very similar to the new UPPAbaby G-Link model. The Mini Twin is available now and retails for around $399.

19. Babyhome Vida – $399

The Babyhome has introduced two new strollers at the ABC Kids Expo 2015 called Vida and Vida Plus. Both new models are upgraded versions of the beloved Emotion model. The Vida model is wider, taller, and has more features than Emotion.

It features a deeper recline suitable for a newborn, a larger canopy with an attachable sunvisor, slightly larger wheels, mesh windows on the side of the seat for better air circulation, and an adjustable handlebar.

They’ve also added an optional newborn nest as an accessory that you can put on top of the reclined seat to provide your baby with a bassinet-like environment.

All these upgrades increased the weight of the stroller from 13 lbs to 15 lbs. Just like Emotion, Vida can take an infant car seat which is very rare for such a lightweight stroller.

Parents will be happy to know that Vida also has a lot of the same features as Emotion like adjustable leg rest, large easy-to-access basket, all-wheel suspension, flip-fop-friendly brake, and compact fold. The maneuverability on Vida is OUTSTANDING!

The TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) tires glide on a flat surface. This is the same long-lasting material that is used to make skateboard wheels.

I think this is a great alternative to the umbrella stroller because it’s more compact, has a single handlebar that you can navigate with just one hand (as opposed to an umbrella stroller that has two handles), the basket is much larger and easier to access because there is no crossbar. Additionally, it can accommodate a car seat and remains very lightweight at only 15 lbs.

The only thing I would change about Vida is the price. You can get it in six colors with two different frame options for around $399. BTW, the Emotion is now on sale for only $250.

Here is my full overview»

babyhome-vida1

Here is a quick overview video of the new collection.

20. Babyhome Vida Plus – $599

The Babyhome Vida Plus is very similar to Vida but has a reversible seat that converts into the bassinet. How cool is that? This is the lightest full-featured reversible-seat stroller on the market right now. It weighs only 16 lbs.

Another cool feature that you don’t see every day is that when your child grows out of the reversible seat, you can purchase a regular seat like on Vida and attach it to the frame instead. This will take you right through the toddler years. It also has a travel system option with Nuna, Cybex, and Maxi-Cosi car seats.

The Vida Plus comes with an adjustable handlebar, large basket, all-wheel suspension, easy fold, included bumper bar, and flip-flop-friendly brake. While I think this reversible seat model is fantastic, there are also some drawbacks.

Because of the bassinet feature the seat does not have an adjustable legrest. This seat is also only 9″ wide which is much more narrow than average. The fold is not as compact as on the Vida and Emotion models. The canopy does not have a peekaboo window.  This model comes in four colors and retails for around $599

21. Muv Reis – $699

The Muv, a new company from Amsterdam, has recently entered the US market. At the ABC Kids Expo 2015, they presented two new strollers called Reis and Gaan. These two models looked very interesting to me because they combine functionality and style.

The European modern design stands out right away. And, I am not saying that there are no modern strollers in the US, but Europe has definitely more modern and innovative products.

The main difference between the two is the number of wheels. Reis rolls on four wheels while Gaan has only three. They both have a reversible seat and come with a bassinet. The Reis model rolls on four EVA foam tires with large 12″ wheels in the back and 9″ wheels in the front.

It has an all-wheel suspension, a huge basket with a cooler compartment, an adjustable handlebar, a huge canopy with six mesh windows, a flip-flop-friendly brake, and a deep one-hand recline.

Design wise it reminds me a lot of a UPPAbaby Vista. And since Vista is one of the most popular strollers on the US market, I think that Reis will also be a hit. You can get it now for around $699. It comes with a bumper bar, a cup holder, and a bassinet.

22. Muv Gaan – $689

Muv Gaan is a similar model to Reis, but it has three wheels. Everything else is pretty much the same. Just like Reis, it has a large canopy with six mesh windows, an adjustable handlebar with faux leather cover, a deep one-hand recline suitable for a newborn, a large basket with a built-in cooler compartment, a flip-flop-friendly brake, and an adjustable leg rest.

It rolls on three 10″ wheels, which, combined with all-wheel suspension, provide a smooth ride.

The included bassinet is always a great idea because you don’t need to worry about where to put your newborn and if your baby has been in the car seat for too long.

You can just put your newborn into the bassinet for a long nap or use it as an extra sleeping place at home. Gaan can also be turned into a travel system with Muv Kussen infant car seat or you can get a universal adapter and use it with the most popular brands.

Just like Reis Gaan is available now and comes with a bumper bar, cup holder, and bassinet. You can get it in one of the five colors for around $689.

23. Maxi-Cosi Adorra Travel System-$599

The Maxi-Cosi Adorra caught my eye when I was visiting the Maxi-Cosi booth. This is a new model with a reversible seat and good-sized wheels that looks stylish and are very practical, unlike some other Maxi-Cosi strollers.

It comes as a travel system with a matching Maxi-Cosi Mico Max infant car seat which is a wonderful car seat. I was impressed with the modern and sophisticated color combination of the frame and fabrics.

Adorra features a large canopy with a pop-out sunvisor, deep one-hand recline suitable for a newborn, removable machine-washable liner, adjustable leg rest, huge basket, and telescoping handlebar. It comes with a bumper bar.

There was not much information available about his model, but I tried to get as much as possible and took a lot of photos. The travel system retails for around $599 and comes with a bumper bar. Here is my full overview»

24. OXO Tot Cubby – $299

Known for their sippy cups and high chairs, Oxo surprised everybody by getting into the stroller market with two new models called Cubby and Cubby Plus. It was probably a very logical move since in only 5 years 25 babies were born to OXO’s 50 employees.

With so many little testers around, OXO had no problem coming up with the new stroller designs that are practical and stylish.

  1. Wow, I am expecting my first baby in May 2016, so I started looking at strollers and wheww I’m overwhelmed, but thank you for this, it has been a very helpful start! Next I will look at the comparisons! I wanted to go without one and carry this baby everywhere, but everyone (including husband) says I have to get one. I am a runner, but I don’t think I will want a jogging stroller. The most important thing for me is that it will be comfortable for both me (5’4″ and petite) and my husband (6’3″ with long legs and giant steps). Is that a normal concern or are they all adaptable to different heights? No weather or terrain issues, but will likely walk along the beach path in Santa Monica a lot. Also would like it to fold easily, but it seems like most of them do–I will store it in the trunk of my car or somewhere in our small condo. I like when the baby faces me as a baby, but I don’t care for the car seat click thing because I would rather have a car seat that just stays in the car (that’s my next research). The two that I liked from your research are the Mamas & Papas Urbo2 and the Muv Reis. Do you have any preference or maybe something stylistically similar? Style isn’t the most important thing, but might as well! Also, am I looking too early or will more strollers come out next year?

  2. Hi Katrin,

These reviews are awesome. Thanks so much for putting them together. It is certainly a lot to take in.

I was hoping you could help narrow down my search for a new stroller. I am a first time mom and live in an urban environment, so I expect I will walk a lot with the little one. I am due in April so need something available before then. I would prefer a reversible seat and something compact, light and easy to manage. Of the four, I would say compact is most important because we live in a smaller city condo. Also, given our space restrictions, something that could be our only stroller would be ideal. I am hoping to spend no more than $500, but would spend more for an awesome stroller. A few I have been looking at are as follows:
    – Nuna Tavo
    – Maxi Coi Adorra Travel System
    – Britax B-Agile
    – UPPABaby Cruz
    – Mamas & Papas Armadillo Flip

What do you think? I am open to other options as well if you think I have totally overlooked something!

Thanks in advance for all your help!

  3. Hi Katrin!
I am looking to purchase a new stroller for my son who is currently 7 months old. I would like a stroller that I can use until he no longer needs/wants a stroller; so well into toddler age. He is about 30″ long right now and if he’s anything like his sister (she’s 5 and 4 feet 3″) he will be a very tall boy. Can you reccomend the best stroller for tall babies/toddlers? Criteria would be a universal stroller that would primarily be used for walks on paved trails/walks/shopping.
    Thanks so much!

  4. We are looking at the following strollers:

    Nuna Tavo
    Quinny Buzz Extra
    Citi-mini GT

    Top factors for us:
-We only want one stroller, birth to preschool
-We have a long (1000 ft), gravel driveway
-Easy fold/unfold is important to us.
-We do make use of clicking a car seat onto the stroller in the early months, so ease in this area is a factor as well.
-Cost (Quinny Buzz Extra currently available for $399 WITH free maxi-cozi car seat, Nuna Tavo system $650, Citi mini GT $350 plus car seat and adaptor.)

We live in a rural area and can only see the citi mini GT in person, so we would love any thoughts and advice you might have to share.

    Thanks!

  5. Thanks for the detailed reviews and wonderful blog.

I am a 1st time mom. My son is already 8 month old. Like most of tge mons, I too am having difficulty choosing the right stroller.

    My criteria is :
    All terrain
    Light weight
    Large canopy
    Decent storage
    Dont care much about looks
    Reversible seat
    Lot of safety features
    Price upto $500

Can you please suggest which strollers i should consider?

  6. Hi Katrin,

Amazing website and reviews! My wife and I are expecting our first baby (boy!) in May and have been researching quite a bit about strollers. We live in the suburbs and will need something that can handle grass, snow and trails as we live in Canada. We have been looking into the Book Pop Up by Peg and Uppababy Vista. I know it’s popular but I just don’t love the UBV. The Peg is functional but not a lot of wow factor and also a couple of years old. Both come with overnight sleep approved bassinets and have compatible infant car seats and bassinet stands which are pluses. We would like a bassinet feature, a smooth ride (all terrain), lots of storage, reversible seat and compatibility with an infant car seat and also something with style. Also I’m not a super huge fan of 3 wheel strollers so 4 wheels are preferred. There are just so many new stroller options we are feeling overwhelmed! What would you recommend for our day to day in the suburbs?

Also we are planning on doing lots of travel (two trips within the first 6 months) with the little guy and I love the Mountain Buggy Nano. Do you still recommend that stroller for plane travel or are there other ones that are better that we should also consider?

Thanks for all your help and hope to hear from you.

    Matt

  7. Hi,
firstly, THANK YOU for this blog! It can be quite overwhelming seeing all the options and as a first time mom, have no idea where to start…your blog definitely eases the process.

I’m currently torn on my decision for a stroller. I want something that is all terrain since I live in New England, with a large canopy, adjustable handle (I’m quite short at 5ft 1′), easy fold, and preferably not weighing more than 22 pounds. After looking at multiple strollers, I really like the Mamas and Papas Armadillo Flip XT and the Nuna Tavo but I am afraid that the armadillo is too expensive (since I still have to get the car seat) and the Nuna is too heavy. Do you have any recommendations between these two or perhaps any other ones in mind? My budget is 650 for all since I just want to invest in a single stroller for now.

    Thank you in advance!

  8. Hi Katrin,

I love your detailed and helpful reviews on all different strollers in the market. Keep the nice work!

We are first time parents from New York city with no car and we walk most of the time. I am 5’3″ and my husband is 6’3″ and he has long walking strides, so the adjustable handle bar is a must for us. In your opinion, which type of handle bar will work better in our case, the telescoping one (pulling outward) or the one that adjust by pushing up and down (for example the Peg Perego or Graco handle)?

I am torn between these 5 strollers:

    – MP Armadillo flip XT, Cybex Balios M and Peg Perego Book Popup (for their easy one handed compact fold as I have to use the public transport sometimes)

    – MP Urbo2 and GB Evoq travel system (for the fact that when they fold, no handle bar or top of canopy touch the ground which won’t get dirty and the handle bar won’t be scratch; and also that the basket won’t be folded so you don’t have to remove the diaper bag or stuff in order to fold). I wonder how to lift them when folded with one hand while walking up or down the stairs? by gripping on their sides? Also can you fold the stroller first with the infant still sitting on the seat, and then unbuckle him while it is folded on the ground (any safety issue there?)?

Look forward to hearing from you soon, thanks for the help.
    Cheers, Giang

  9. Hi there,
I am just starting my stroller research, and feeling very overwhelmed!
We live in Canada, so I am looking for a jogger that has good wheels for rougher terrain. I also want it to be pretty lightweight! Do you have a recommendation for those needs?

  10. Hi Katrin,
I was wondering will this stroller work with a britax car seat? Thank you in advance!

  11. Hi Sheena. Most all-terrain have large wheels which add more weight. The lightest strollers that come to mind with all-terrain wheels are: Baby Jogger City Mini GT (21 lbs), Bumbleride Indie (20 lbs) and Mamas&Papas Sola2 MTX (22 lbs). There is also Valco Baby Snap Ultra that weighs only 19 lbs which doesn’t have all-terrain wheels, but you can get a set of all-terrain wheels for it separately and switch them when needed. Out of this list, City Mini GT would be the most practical choice (it has one-hand fold) while Sola2 MTX is the most stylish.

  12. Hi Giang. You really can’t fold the stroller with the child in it. LOL. It looks like you are trying to figure out a way to hold your child and fold the stroller at the same time so you can carry the stroller in one hand and hold your child in another one? The only way to do it is to buy stroller with one-hand fold. So Urbo2 and Evoq are out. I think that Armadillo Flip XT is the best one out of three. It will be the easiest to fold and carry with your child in another hand.

  13. Hi Katrin,

I’m so happy I discovered your website, this is so helpful ! I’m expecting in July and I live in Montreal,Canada. I live in the city and here it’s a mix of old and new, the streets are really uneven sometimes made of stones while other parts are with pavement. I need something light and compact enough for the bus/subway/stores and restaurants/terraces. I was thinking about the baby zen yoyo 0 plus , but I’m hesitant because of our winter, I’m not sure how it will perform in the snow and with the cold..any suggestion ?

    thanks,

    Catherine

  14. Hi Catherine. I wouldn’t get YOYO because the wheels are tiny! It can’t handle terrain very well. I think YOYO more for traveling than for everyday use. I would suggest something compact but with better wheels for a smoother ride. Take a look at Mamas & Papas Armadillo XT. This probably would be my first choice.

  15. Hi Katrin,

I have a question for you in regards to Joovy strollers. I have a 6 month old and a 4 year old who still from time to time enjoys reclining in the stroller. I have a credit for Joovy strollers and need to decide which double stroller I should get. I have been looking at the Joovy Scooter X2 or the Caboose Ultralight Graphite. What are your thoughts.

    Sincerely,
    Katie

  16. Hi katie. I would definitely go for Caboose because I think that side-by-side stroller are much harder to navigate and they are less practical because of the seat configuration. After a few months you will be stock with the side-by-side huge stroller for another like 3 years. LOL.

  17. Hi Katrin

Thanks for your review – great information!. I have been searching for the perfect stroller and car seat for ages now. Our little guy is due in July and this is our first. Can you help me decide on the best stroller for our needs?

_We would like one stroller only: so far have liked Nuna and Mamas & Papas brands
_We live in the suburbs with a SUV but go for walks around the neighborhood, in parks, and downtown often
_I would really like a lightweight stroller and car swat I don’t hate using
_Adjustable handle bar (I am 5’2″ my husband 5’11”), having tried several, my favorite for comfort so far has been an expensive Mama’s and Papa’s, but we haven’t been able to find all in stores to try out
_Does not need to be front facing
_Would like to spend $400 or less but could be convinced to spend more for the perfect stroller
_One hand controlled push would be nice
    _One fold

So basically I want it all!

    Please help!
    Thanks,
    Vicki

  18. Hi Vicki. What do you think about new Nuna Tavo? It will go great with the Nuna Pipa car seat. This is probably the only stroller you will need.

  19. Hi Katrin! Great reviews!! I just bought a BOB double stroller for running and I love it, but now I need an umbrella style double stroller. Since I already have a side by side, I may want to get a tandem, but I don’t know how the boys would like that (2yr old and 3month old). If you had to choose your very favorite umbrella style double stroller, what would you go with?

    Thanks Katrin!!

  20. We like the Nina Pipa carseat.

And after much research are down to the Nuna and Mamas and Papas strollers. After test driving both I liked the way the Mamas and Papas handled better than the Nuna, especially one handed. However the store only had the Mixx and the Urbo 2. Lightweight and size being my primary concerns between these 2 brands, what do you think of the Tavo or Mixx against the Armadillo regular or XT (to stay more in our price point). We are not concerned so much about the flip aspect, is there something we are missing to this?

Ideally I could just test all 4, but no stores seem to have the others. What are your thoughts?

    Thanks!

  21. Hi,

Thank you for this stroller review.

We live in a 4-floor walk up building in Manhattan. My baby is 6 weeks old right now. Looking for a light weight, new born to toddler stroller. We already have a maxi-cosi infant car seat, so want to get something that would work with it.
I like Babyzen yoyo for its compact and light weight features, but you mentioned that it got tiny wheels… Any suggestions for us? Also thinking about Bugaboo Bee 3, is that a perfect stroller for us?

    Thanks
    Chantal

  22. Hey Katrin,
Thanks for your reply. The armadillos and most of the M&P are not available where I live unfortunately ! I saw the uppababy cruz and the bugaboo at a store near by and they seemed good, but I was wondering if there was anything else that would be better for my liftestyle.

    Thank you !

  23. Hi Katrin,

We are expecting for the first time and super overwhelmed by all the stroller choices. My wife is pushing for a Bugaboo Bee 3 but i’m looking for alternatives that are more value for money. We live in an urban environment with no car so we are mostly walking, taking the train, or occasionally a taxi so we want something relatively compact, but are looking for one stroller to use for everyday so not too delicate. We won’t go off-sidewalk much so we don’t need huge wheels. We are planning to use from newborn with a bassinet/nest feature and want the reversible seat feature. Personally, I would prefer a self-standing fold if possible. Finally, it would be great if the stroller we end up with has the ability to add additional seats in case we have another kid in the next 2-3 years.

I’ve done a LOT of research but feel like the more I read the more confused I get. So far I’m considering the Bugaboo Bee 3, Uppababy Cruz, GB Maris (if it ever comes out), Mutsy Igo, Cybex Iris M-Air, or Mamas & Papas Urgo. Any help?

  24. Hi Katrin,

I’m a mother of a three-month-old girl. I live in India and am looking for an all-in-one stroller with all advanced features that suit bumpy roads, provide protection from sunlight and mosquitoes, etc. To explain this better, I need a stroller with sturdy wheels that can handle all terrains and provide a smooth ride; huge canopy that preferably goes down all the way to the bumper bar and protects the baby from mosquitoes, sunlight, etc; all-wheel suspension; reversible seat; adjustable leg rest with footmuff; deep recline; large basket; cup/bottle holders; easy standing one fold; adjustable handle bar, flip-flop friendly lock, preferably brake on the handle bar; and an automatic lock. I’d love to have a bassinet included and also the travel system option. The stroller should be wide and roomy and comfortable for the baby. A stylish, luxury stroller is what I’m looking for. Cost is not a consideration.

  25. Hi I really appreciate all of your wonderful in depth reviews! My wife and I are adopting and are trying to buy our big ticket items before we are matched so we don’t get hit all at once with so many expenses. The adoption process as I’m sure you know is expensive! So I don’t want to waste money on a stroller that won’t last. We can’t find anyone with Nuna strollers! Not one display that we can see. Like belly buttons everyone has an opinion but since you have seen/used and reviewed so many I wanted to ask you if you were going to buy a Nuna would you get the Mixx or the Tavo and why? Or is there another stroller that you would recommend? Thanks so much for your help!

  26. Hi sussan excelent review!
I am wondering if you could help me to decide between any strollers
What do you think about the quinny extra and the uppababy cruz
I would like that it will easy to fold and unfold but i want something durable. Could help me
Also i would like that have reversible seat or you can recommend me another thanks claudia

  27. Hello, I need help deciding on a new stroller. We currently have a baby jogger city
Mini GT. I love it the smooth ride, easy to maneuver, the recline, sun canopy and storage basket. We travel a lot and have been using this stroller. At times I do complain wishing I had an lighter stroller that’s more compact. I was considering the Bumbleride flite. But I’m afraid we’re so used to our city mini GT that we won’t be happy with a umbrella stroller. We are also planning on another baby so I’m debating if I should look into the Uppababy vista? If we do get pregnant soon the our babies will be 2 1/2 years apart. Will I need a double stroller? At what age do most kids not want to ride in one? I appreciate any feedback. Should I stay with what we have? Buy an umbrella? Or go with a double stroller? Or end up with 3 strollers :)

  28. Hi Katrin : )
Thank you for sharing your very thorough reviews. While it has been super informational and helpful, I have a question for you: would you recommend the Cybex Priam, Nuna Mixx, or Nuna ivvi if I am particularly interested in:

    -SUPER maneuverable wheels (generally speaking)
-large and easily accessible storage basket
-comfort, but spacey seating for a growing toddler
-sufficient calf and leg space for a growing toddler
-as compact of a fold as I can get (some YouTube videos have shown that the Nuna ivvi can be folded WITH the seat, while other video tutorials show the stroller being folded WITHOUT the seat so I’m a little confused on that!
-full flat recline suitable even for an infant
-a stroller with more seat depth so as to accommodate a growing toddler.

Thanks for whatever insight you can give me regarding these three models. And If you might have another stroller model in mind that I may not even know of, please do share!!! I’m almost a little embarrassed to admit exactly how much time I’ve spent on researching on “this particular” stroller,
LOL! It seriously is like buying a car…..

Functional stroller. Happy mom. Happy baby.

    Thanks, Jasmine

  29. Hi Katrin-
Best website out there! :) I live in NYC and well you know that means walking, pavement, easy fold, light as possible!
I have had the City Mini with my car seat and its been great. But my baby is 5 months old and can certainly go in the stroller directly but I am struggling to do it as I am so used to seeing his little face when we are out! So I am starting to think maybe I need a reversible stroller after all. Yes 1st time mom obsessed with THAT FACE! :) I have a BOB jogger (in storage) for when we are ready for that as I am hoping to exercise with him (hahahah!) But well, what do you think I should maybe get at this point? I wonder about the Cruz or an Armadillo flip but man I am addicted to an easy fold after the city mini and weight…. sigh.
    Welcome your advice!
    Thanks!
    Alexis

  30. Hi Katrin,

Thank you for a great review!!!I’m flying internationally next month and I’m trying to see what’s the best option for a travel stroller. I already have a Mamas and Papas Armadillo Flip, which I love, but I don’t think it’s the best choice to travel with. I’m flying to a very warm climate, so I’m looking for something with a good size canopy but also as compact as possible. I really like Babyzen Yoyo (not sure if I can justify the price though), Mountain buggy nano (canopy is useless in my opinion) and Babyhome emotion (can’t find anything negative to tell you the truth). Which one would be your choice? Any suggestions?

    THank you in advance,
    Lia

  31. Hi Katrin! I am a mother of 2 (6YO and 4YO) and know expecting baby #3!!! I can’t beleive how many new models and brands have come into the market since I last went stroller shopping!!! We need to buy a new stroller which can be used with a PegPerego Primo Vaggio Car Seat (it can be with adapters), that is lightweight as possible and easy to fold, but that will also accomodate a glider board for my other children to stand on when they are a bit tired. Which 3 options would you recommend? Many thanks!!!

  32. Hi Katrin,

I’m so happy I discovered your website. Searching for a perfect stroller is so overwheming! I’m expecting my first baby in 3weeks and still deciding. I was reading Nuna Tavo stroller and this could be the one. It’s just that we have maxi cosi Max 30 infant car seat and was wondering if this clips in to tavo stroller. I know mixx does. For the price wise… I’m more going towards to tavo instead of mixx.

    Thank you so much Katrin!

  33. Hi Katrin, like Vicki above, I am looking for a stroller for a newborn.
We have a maxi-cosi Cabriofix from our previous child.
My husband was attached to a lightweight travel stroller because we travel back and forth between the US and Europe. So we purchase the Yoyo+ Babyzen. Our order arrives in 3 weeks.

However, I am not comfortable with it as a stroller for a newborn for everyday use. Hubby agrees to buying a second stroller but that must fold nicely in our 4×4 trunk.

So I would like a stroller that have these features:
    -all-terrain wheels
    – full recline (why is this so hard to find? My husband wants to avoid the bassinet, which gets cumbersome). My ideal is a full decline with a nest but I don’t mind a bassinet if all other features are there.
    -visor
-large canopy UV Protection (we go to Florida)
    -compact fold.
    -fairly lightweight
    -single handle bar and adjustable.
    -decent basket

  34. We live in Portland, OR. We plan on walking in our neighborhood and to the park with barkchips and gravel. We plan to use a carrier also. We live in a small 450 sq ft apartment so size for storage is important, but not a deal breaker. We are hoping to have a stroller that we can use from newborn to toddler. We were hoping to not keep baby in a car seat much, and so flat recline is important. We are not wanting to spend really more than 500 dollars. I like the look at feel of the Uppababy Cruz for size etc. We had hope for a reversible seat option, but also your review of the Nuna Tivo is interesting. Love to hear your ideas for a stroller…. this process is overwhelming.

    Thanks in advance!

  35. Hi, Can you please help me pick one? I need: lightweight ,easy to push, plenty of storage, roomy seat (my 8 mo old is super tall and has “amply sized” legs ), one handed fold is nice, folds easily, and i need to have a place to put my coffee, even if its attaching something. oh and the straps must be big enough to fit. oh and easy to clean! and must not be super costly. Which one do you think is best for me? i have the gb qbit (straps way too small now) and the britax b agile, which has a really small cargo storage.

    thanks.

  36. I have three kids; 5, 3, and 1. We currently have the britax b-ready, but I would really like to purchase something that is lighter weight and has a kickboard or additional seat for my oldest child for when we walk long distances. I would love any suggestions you might have!

  37. Love the site! New FTM here and overwhelmed with all of the options!

I didn’t see the popular UppaBaby Vista/ Cruz or Bugaboo mentioned. Did they not come out with anything new in 2016? Do you think their models no longer hold up to this list?

    Thanks!

  38. Hi Cena. I Do think that Vista and Cruz are great strollers but they were released in 2015. For 2016 list I wanted to only list strollers that are new to the market.

  39. Hi Melinda. Have you looked at any of the Cybex models? You didn’t say anything about the wheels. Do you need all-terrain or regular type of wheels? BTW, most of the lightweight compact strollers have a smaller basket. If you are willing to get a larger stroller it will be much easier to find a larger basket.

  40. HI David. I think that Cybex Balios M would be a perfect stroller for you. It has reversible seat, compact one-hand fold, large basket, and all-terrain wheels. What do you think? I like Cruz, but it doesn’t have a compact fold and the wheels are a little small for a lot of walking.

  41. Hi Sophia. I would probably recommend looking at Cybex Eternis M4, Cybex Eternis M3 (three wheels), Bumbleride Indie 4, and BOB Motion. Cybex strollers have a bassinet option. And all of these models are very compact for all-terrain strollers.

  42. Hi Maki. Officially Nuna says that it only works with Pipa car seat but everybody says that Maxi cosi car seat works with it too.

  43. Hi Lia. Are you trying to take the stroller on board with you? I would just get a stroller that you can use even after the trip. These days they will take any stroller right before you get on board of the plane and will give it to you back right after you land. So it doesn’t have to be super compact.

  44. Hi Alexis. I would look at the Cybex models. They ALL have one-hand fold. You can get Cybex Balios M or a lighter one Cybex Iris M-Air which is very similar to City Mini but has a reversible seat. Also, look at Stokke Scoot V2 – has one-hand fold, good wheels and soooo stylish! Perfect for NYC!

  45. Hi Jasmine. The situation with IVVI fold is so confusing because there are two different models for US and Europe. We got the one that you need to remove the seat before folding. I personally like the look of Nuna strollers more than Cybex Priam because it reminds me of an office chair. LOL. If you have to have a bassinet go with IVVI. Otherwise, Mixx is much more practical because you can fold it with the seat attached and the recline gives you a really flat bed-like environment for your child. From your list of things, I would go with Mixx. I hope this helps. :)

  46. Hi Katrin,
I think I want it all but here you go…please give me your thoughts on some stroller options. I would like all terrain, four wheel suspension tires, light weight (under 25 definitely), reversible, great canopy, bumper bar option, very good size basket storage, preferably folds up nicely and easily with one hand and stands up on its own. And stylish of course!! Please help. I’m reading your blogs and always finding at least one thing missing.

  47. Katrin -Thank you for providing such a terrific and helpful resource!

I’ve read most of your reviews (at least once) , and i wish I could highlight or bookmark the products that you call out as “could be the only stroller you need.” Overall, it seems that you gravitate towards Armadillo Flip XT, Nuna Tavo, and now one of the Cybex models. But if you had to choose just one stroller from all the strollers you’ve tested, which would you suggest as the best choice for a growing family with two toddlers (based on your criteria of functionality, value, style)?

    Greatly appreciate your insight!

  48. Thanks for the reviews. I have a 17 month old and want a stroller that is light weight, easy to fold, and has extendable handle bars. Which one do you recommend?

  49. Hi Danica. God…. there so many great strollers. If you pick any stroller from my top 10 list, you will be happy. I don’t think you will be hating any of them. I think that the MOST practical strollers right now are Cybex M models. If I didn’t have any strollers, I would pick probably Cybex Balios M (all-terrain wheels) or Iris M-Air (lighter wheels). The fold is very compact and easy. The fact that Flip Xt doesn’t have a bumper bar bothers me a little. LOL. Nuna Tavo is great, but doesn’t have the reversible seat. Other than that, I love it. What features are you looking for?

  50. Hi Katrin, thank you I just looked at those and they do look like good options. How do you think they compare to the Muv Gaan? I am finding limited reviews because it is a new stroller. The only downside for me with the Gaan is the bulkiness once folded but I don’t think I can have it all!
I will be constantly putting this stroller in and out of my SUV and use it for a variety of things. Do you think the weight and bulk will be a problem?

  51. Hi,
I am looking for an umbrella stroller to take on a four week trip to UK next year.
I have a Britax B-Agile and a BOB Motion but due to space in the car during that period neither is an option.
My little one is currently 3 and almost 41 inches, 35 lbs.
I know strollers are meant for young ones but with all the touring and walking we will be doing we decided that we want one just in case.
I am looking at MacLaren, UppaBABY Gluxe, City Mini Zip and the Bumbleride Flite but of course I can’t decide.

Would love your input or opinions on any of the above for a tall toddler.

    Thanks!

  52. Katrin,

Very great webpage and I love reading all your reviews.

I need to ask for your advice… I have a 2 year old son and am pregnant with my second child. I will be giving birth in about 5 months and my son will be about 2.5 years old (so basically about 2.5 years apart). Question: what type of stylish tandem stroller (probably a sit n’ stand one since my son sometimes can’t sit for too long) do you recommend for my children? I want to be able to buy a tandem/double stroller to fit an infant car seat for my newborn and have a seat or standing board for my son.

    Thank you!

  53. hello Katrin!
I am looking for a stroller with good wheels, with a reversible seat that can recline almost 180° so I could use it with a new born (I don’t want to buy a basinet). I need one that is not to big when folded, because I have a small trunk, and hopefully not too heavy for me to carry it.
I’ve seen the Britax B-Agile 3, UppaBaby Cruz, Mamas & Papas Armadillo Flip XT (doesn’t have bumper bar). We think the first two are the ones that fit better our requirements, but you may have an expert opinion and maybe another better alternative.
    Thanks

  54. Hi Katrin.

Your website have helpt me alot in my stroller research, and i have managed to narrow it down to two (maybe three) strollers im trying to choose between, and was hoping maybe you could help me take my final dissision =)
We are a Norwegian couple, and love spending our time outside, and in the forrest with our dog and our baby boy (he is 6 months now) therefor we need a stroller that will be good for us. I have looked at the new Bumpleride Speed, and alos the Mountain Buggy Terrain, the Terrain take alot of space in the car, and the Speed i havent seen in real life, so not sure if its robust for our use, do you think you could be able to help us find a good stroller for our outdoors Activitys +? Thanks =)

  55. Live in a rural (gravel roads) driveway in a HOT humid climate (101 heat index here and will be through September).
I want to be able to jog AND have a reversible seat (working mom so want to see baby as much as possible). Any recommendations? (also — any updates on Quinny jogger? there’s NOTHING on their website and it’s the only option I can see other than Bugagoo — hello $$$$!) More and more it seems like I’m going to need something small for shopping in-town (like MB Mini —- would love full review!) and then a separate jogging stroller?

  56. Thanks for the wonderful reviews! My husband and I are expecting a boy at the end of the year. We live in a city with a warm and humid climate. We would like a stroller that would be easy to maneuver/handle alone and would take well to regular extended long walks outdoors on generally paved paths. Additionally, I would like it to be lightweight and have the possibility of attaching a car seat as well. It would be ideal if the stroller can be used from newborn instead of 6 months. It would also be a plus if a rear-facing option is available.

I’m currently considering the City Mini, Cybex Agis M-Air 3, Britax Agile 3 and the babyzen yoyo. Any comments or suggestions based on these models? How do they compare? Alternatively, do you have other models that you would recommend?

    Thanks in advance!

  57. Hi, my husband was recently accepted for a job in Italy! We are so excited to move to Europe in December and travel all over while there! I’m due to have our first baby in about a month (so many exciting changes happening!) After much research I recently ordered the GB Pockit stroller for when we are traveling mostly for it’s weight and size. I’ve heard too many horror stories of strollers getting damaged in airplane cargo holds so I knew I didn’t want to risk getting anything too large to fit in an overhead bin. However, I’m now searching for a more sturdy, everyday use stroller while living in Italy over the next few years. I love your reviews of the Nuna Tavo and Oxo Tot Cubby (plus) and thinking they might be good options for us. My biggest concerns/needs are tire durability (needs to be able to handle cobblestones, uneven sidewalks, etc), size (I still want a smaller, city stroller that can easily be maneuvered through tight spaces in stores, ally ways, apartment lifts, etc), and a one hand fold for when i’m alone. It would be a dream if the stroller had a large canopy for sun protection, decently large storage basket, deep recline, and is under $400. Are my expectations too high? I’m open to any stroller suggestions you think would fit the criteria!! Thanks!

  58. Hi! Thanks for these great reviews.

I live on a hill in Los Angeles and we take long walks up and down the hill where our streets can be bumpy. For our first child, we’re looking for a stroller that has it all of course – which stroller do you think would suit our needs? Ideally:
    – easy maneuvering & good suspension
    – lightweight
    – compact
    – easy to use as travel system
    – reversible seat
    – sturdy
    – stylish

Front runners so far are the Mama & Papas Urbo2 (love this look & specs, but are the wheels too small?), Uppa Baby Vista (though seems on the heavy side), Nuna Mixx (though I’d prefer a 1-hand fold, but maybe that’s not a big deal?)…

Do you think one of these (or any other not mentioned) could suffice as our only stroller? Which? Or do you think we should pair one of the heavier options with thicker tires (for the hill & terrain walks) with a lighter-weight option (for travel)? And which combo would you suggest?

    Thanks!

  59. Hi Katrin,

We’re expecting a second one due in Nov, and our older one is almost 7. Baby gear market had certainly changed ALOT in the past 7 years! I’m so glad I came across your website, some really great information!

We have sold or give away all of our gears, so we’re basically starting from scratch. Starting from stroller, some key functions I’m looking for in the order of importance:

    1. Reversible seat
    2. Easy adjusting sitting positions, preferable from lay flat (from birth) to sit straight
    3. No more than 24 lbs
    4. Easy fold, 1-hand preferred
    5. Adaptable with other brand name car seats, and not just its own brand
    6. Adjustable handle if possible, as I’m only 5′

We’re willing to pay more for the right stroller, would you suggest 1-2 in $300-$500 range and then $500+?

    Thanks,
    Vivian

  60. Hi Katrin!
I was wondering if you would help me choose a stroller for my 5yo and 3yo. The heaviest is 38 lbs. The stroller would be used for outings like Disneyland, zoo, aquariums, etc. Thanks in advance.

  61. Hi Katrin,

I need your help! I really LOVE the look of the Rachel Zoe x Quinny stroller but my husband feels that it is too expensive. So I am trying to be more practical. Based off “looks” my other options are the Nuna Tavo, Mutsy Nexo or a Mutsy Evo. I also fancy the Quinny Moodd in the white frame. We live in Los Angeles, so we drive a lot but plan to use the stroller on family outings to the park, festivals, shopping and of course on walks. I want something that will last me from birth until around 2 years old. I also would like a stroller that is easy to fold and not bulky. I do not mind the strollers that only face front, that isn’t a big deal. I hear that the Quinny Moodd has a button that you can press to fold which sounds neat but I don’t know much about the stroller and it is $700 and for that much I may as well get the Rachel Zoe edition! I am also very confused about the car seat situation. Is it really important to have the car seat attach to the stroller? I have a 10 year old and I only remember carrying him in his carseat with my hands into restaurants and never attaching it to a stroller. I never liked lugging a stroller into places like restaurants. Suggestions (with carseats) please!

    Thank you much,

    Jessica

  62. Hi Katrin: Great reviews!! I would value your help

Hubby & I are tall (5’11 & 6’4) and live in the city. Baby is due JAN 2017. No other children to consider. We would be willing to spend any price but ideally only one strong and long-term quality stroller. I loved the designer brands but wondered about long term quality and heights / weight. We would prefer the following:
-stroller that fits newborn to tall toddler (so has full recline).
    -stroller with high handle bar(s)
-large canopy (Baby Jogger super size)
-light weight / can be lifted down to subways or fold nicely enough into a car for road trips

With our first son we had a baby jogger select and it was worth every penny. It was not light weight enough for the nannies though and they rarely used it. They opted for our Guzzie & Gus umbrella stroller and it was ‘okay’ but terrible for long walks and the canopy only went half the coverage of the baby jogger.

Any guidance from 2015 to 2016+ would be warmly appreciated!

  63. Hi Tabitha. I really like Cybex models right now because they have all of the features you are looking for. Plus, you can pick the wheels you want and the reversible/nonreversible seat. Have you looked at any of them? They all have one-hand compact fold, adjustable handle bar and deep recline. Take a look.

  64. Hi Katrin,

I’m having a hard time choosing a stroller (sound familiar?). I want one with a basinet, car seat option/adapter, and option for a second seat (we plan to have a second baby soon after). I’ve narrowed it down to Baby Jogger City Select (although it’s not as attractive as I wanted) or the Uppa Baby Vista (although it doesn’t seem to come in all black so all the colors seem off). I love the upscale look of the Inglesina and Mountain Buggy Cosmo but they don’t have a second seat option. Any thoughts on these or other suggestions I should look at? Thank you.

  65. Hi Katrin – great reviews! I have an 8 month old and a 5 year old, and I am so overwhelmed. I want two strollers, one that’s lightweight umbrella for times when I am travelling and one everyday mid size stroller. For the lightweight, I would like a reversible seat and as compact easy fold as possible and for the everyday stroller something again that’s easy to fold as possible but also can hold a skateboard attachment. I was thinking of a city mini for everyday (I have an old one I used for my daughter and love the one hand fold), what are your thoughts on this stroller, or do you prefer another one? For the light weight umbrella, I am completely open – which one do you absolutely love staying under $300?

  66. Hi Katrin. Thank you so much for such detailed review. Though its a lot of information to assimilate but I feel so enlightened after reading this article.
Me and my my wife are to be first time parents of a little angel. My friend gave me a Chicco Keyfit Carseat and now am having a hardtime finding a stroller that fits that car seat. I was thinking to buy the Baby Trend Snap-N-Go EX Universal Infant Car Seat Carrier but then that would be useless after 6 months. Could you please suggest a good stroller (that fits Chicco Keyfit carseat) and can later also be used for my toddler.

If you think it isnt a good idea to find a match for Chicco keyfit and instead it would be more wise to buy a whole new travel system, then please suggest the best one that fits my $350 budget and solves both purposes.

    Thanks,
    Vishal

  67. My wife and I live in SF and are big walkers (3-8 miles per day) with occasional jogging as well. We like the MP armadillo XT but are wondering if we need a jogger. Most of our walking and jogging is on pavement or well the occasional dirt path. Will the MP hold up?

    Thanks,
    Brandon

  68. Hi Katrin.
Great to see your website and the valuable and time saving advice you provide.

Please let us know what you consider as a couple of good option to investigate from twins.
We don’t know their sex yet. But we need something light , safe , easy to manipulate/fold, unfold, push and also we storage space,
We are sure you can provide great recommendation,
    Take care .
    Kind regards
    Anastasio

  69. Hello Katrin!

Great reviews! I’m deciding between the
    1. Mountain Buggy 360 Luxury Collection
    2. Peg Perego Book Pop Up
    3. Muv Reis
    4. Uppababy Vista

I really want to like the Vista b/c all my friends love their earlier versions, but I find the 2015 feels really wide and bulky. This is our first baby & not sure when #2 will come along, so I don’t want to buy a stroller for the sole purpose that it can convert to 2. Even the Bugaboo donkey is narrower than the Vista. Ugh. It wouldn’t fit through an office door at Buy, Buy Baby & that screams deal breaker to me, though every employee was gushing over it & thinks I’m overreacting to the width (it was the widest of any single stroller, even wider than the joggers).

As far as features, I like a smooth ride, reversible seat, easy to fold, adjustable handle bar, flip-flop friendly brake, magnetic peek-a-boo window, ample storage, large canopy & good turning radius, I’m not as concerned with price (within reason) because I really would like to find something that has all the features I like. I’d say $1K or under is ideal.

    Thank you!

  70. Oh and I forgot to ask, do you know if any of these models will get an update for 2017? We are due in February and I don’t mind waiting for a newer model! Thanks!

  71. Hello,
I am looking for a stroller to replace Peg Perego Book Plus. I would like to get one that reclines to full flat position, has big canopy, big enough wheels for a smooth ride in the city, and has a parent facing option. I looked into Nuna Mixx but when I measured the inside of the seat, it looked more narrow than the Peg Perego I currently own. My son loves to takes naps in the stroller when we’re in the park, so I’d like to get a stroller that would be comfortable – wide enough and soft enough. The Peg Perego is not soft at all. The Maxi Cosi Adorra looks softer but I wasn’t able to find out the seat dimensions – there is no store within 50 miles that carry it We will be travelling in 2 weeks and I’d like to get something before we go.
    Thank you for your help,

  72. I’m between the Mamas and Papas Armidillo or Zoe xl1. My in town stroller is the City Versa and I love it. This will be used as an umbrella stroller in my car and for at least 3 plane trips. My baby is 7 months and still occasionally naps in a stroller if she’s tired. I want a comfortable sleeping recline and huge canopy to keep her in the shade. Right now the cost difference between the two is about $25 so that isn’t an issue. Help?! :)

  73. Hi Katrin. Love your website compared to other stroller review sites/blogs I’ve read. I’m due April 2017 and can’t wait to try out different strollers. Any word yet on the 2017 models? Hubby and I are looking for fashionable but practical (if that makes sense)ones. We live in the city but love to travel. So something with lots of room for stuff, one-hand fold, light (if possible) and easy to maneuver. Love the Austlen entourage and Quinny by Rachel Zoe. Anything else we should look into? Looking forward to the 2017 strollers. :)

  74. Hi!
I’m looking for a compact reversible seat stroller… Running errands and occasionally the zoo….
    My must haves are:
    Reversible seat
    Light
    Good size storage basket

    What would you recommend?

  75. Hi Katrin,
Great reviews and very helpful insights. Came in really handy for our first stroller purchase. Now we are looking for a new one with a recent addition to the family :)
We have a newborn and a 3.5 year old. We live in a city and walk everywhere (so car seat compatibility is not a criteria). So looking a good stroller with, ideally, following characteristics:
    – not too bulky, easy to fold with the seat (for putting in cabs etc)
    – comfortable for newborn (possibly without purchasing a separate bassinet) – up to 50 lbs
    – ability to add a skate board or sit-and-stand seat for the older kid
    – good cover etc for bad winter / rain etc
    – good to decent undercarriage storage
    – ability to add a second seat for the toddler (this is least important as we are encouraging her to walk / scooter vs sit in the stroller)

We will really appreciate any inputs you can provide.

    Cheers!
    Kunal

  76. Hi Katrin,

Your website is very informative and has opened my eyes to be a more informed shopper. I am going crazy trying to decide on a double stroller for my 2 month old and 3 year old. I can’t decide between side by side or tandem. I know that I want a stroller with large canopies, independent recline, great suspension, easy maneuverability, can be used for a child up to 5 years, decent sized storage basket. I plan on having one more child. Advice from a stroller enthusiast like you will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  77. Hi Katrin, what a fabulous site! I love your reviews and bet you’re one of the few people who can solve our family’s issue:

I’m looking for the perfect stroller for our home here in Paris. Currently we have the Bugaboo Donkey and a Babyzen Yoyo for travel (as we live between here the US). In the US, we have a Vista which I’ve loved.

In Paris, however, everything is small. The elevator barely fits the Yoyo, and then we have a flight of stairs to get to our actual apartment (I’m also 4 months pregnant again, so anything heavy is going to be out of the question very soon).

So, we need something that is compact (narrow) and easy to fold (we have a small storage space in the lobby, if needed). It also has to have suspension, a great canopy (for napping, especially), rain cover, decent wheels for park walks, a large basket for grocery shopping (the Vista basket puts the Donkey basket to shame), reversible seat, and a snack tray is super-helpful. We don’t have a car seat here in Paris so compatibility isn’t a big concern for me.

I purchased the Donkey thinking we would use both seats, but we have kept it as a solo — my daughter will be 2 1/2 when the next baby comes, and I’ll use a carrier a lot for our newborn, so not sure we absolutely have to have 2 seats available.

We’ll keep the Yoyo which we love but the Donkey has to go because, though it’s wonderful, it just can’t work with our life here.

    Thoughts? Suggestions? Thank you!

  78. Hi there,

I was hoping to ask a general stroller question. I’m expecting #2 shortly and looking for a lightweight stroller with a kick board option. Could you help me narrow this down? In a perfect world it’d be under 20lbs but I know that’s asking a lot.

Thank you for your time and expertise.

  79. Thanks for your reviews Katrin. We are from Canada and I don’t think the Cybex is available here but I did like the Cybex Balios M features. We are looking for a stroller we can use from birth (with car seat adapter/travel system) and continue using for a few years. We are looking for a small when folded, compact stroller that folds easily into our small car. We would like it to be easy/smooth to push with good strong wheels to fit our active lifestyle. (But we are not joggers so don’t need the huge wheels). An adjustable handle bar and large canopy would be good too.
We looked at the Britax b-ready and found it had great features but was large when folded and a bit harder to push. We liked the Baby Jogger City Mini GT (small and easy to fold and good wheels) but is has a super small basket underneath and doesn’t have the best safety ratings as it falls back easily. We then liked the Peg Perego Pop-up since it’s small and has some great features – the main concern is if the wheels are good enough. Please if you have any suggestions, let us know. Thank you.

  80. Could you help me know which strollers have the most upright seat positions in the active positions. My son hates the stroller we have because it’s always reclining some and he wants to sit straight up and see everything. I’m looking for a standard size everyday stroller that fold up compactly for the trunk.

  81. Hi Katrin,
Thank you for the helpful review
I am looking for a stroller that can fit a new born till toddler age. with a reversable seat or handle so that the infant can face the parent. something lightweight and suitable to be used in public transportation and walks in a big city since I do not own a car. from your review I think the following can match our needs but i am not sure if they are stable anough for a big city and public transportation:
GB Lyfe Travel System and Babyhome Vida
my budget is up to 500$
    any advice?
    thank you!

  82. Thank you for your reply Katrin, most suitable would be stable wheels for uneven surfaces (city streets walking)

  83. Hi Katrin,

I am in between two strollers peg perego book cross and bumbleride indie. I do like book cross which is cheaper in Europe stylish and more spacious than bumbleride indie, however I do worry about its performance and durability over trekking trails and hard or even muddy terrain. I assume this is a feature that depends on the stroller’s usage in such terrain besides the mall and normal pavements. lets say that once and a while I look forward to such excursions (beach or mountain) with my husband. On the other hand the bassinet Navetta XL I believe it is of high quality since it is available in many shops in Greece and could inspect it, but I have no clue about the quality of bumbleride indie bassinet since it is not available in Greece. Is it also as comfy for newborns as Navetta XL? Do you have any idea or recommendations?

    Thank you in advance

  84. HI Brandon. You need an all-terrain/light jogging stroller. I would recommend looking at something like Bumbleride Indie. Armadillo XT can’t handle any jogging at all. Not safe.
