UPPAbaby G-Link Double Stroller Review

The new G-Link is the first double umbrella model from UPPAbaby. This model is very similar to the popular G-Luxe but is designed as a double.

The great thing about G-Link is that it can comfortably accommodate older toddlers as well as newborns. For a toddler, the seat is very roomy with a canopy height of 26″.

It also features a great canopy with a very large pop-out sunvisor, large peekaboo windows with closure, a 5-point harness, lockable front wheels, large baskets, and an easy compact fold.

At the same time, it has a very deep one-hand recline for a newborn and adjustable leg rest. In addition, it comes with infant head inserts and snap-on mesh foot barriers for traveling from birth.

While it does NOT have a travel system option, the seat can accommodate a child from birth and up to 50 lbs.

It weighs only 24.5 lbs and is only 30″ wide so you should be able to fit through any doorway. The compact width is a huge plus if you live in a city where store ales are very narrow and elevators are tight. Surprisingly, the seat width didn’t suffer so both of your kids will be comfortable.

I like this model a LOT because, like all products from Uppababy, it’s very practical and is made out of high-quality materials. You can get a G-Link Double Stroller right now for around $499.

The Uppababy booth at the ABC Kids Expo had one of the most interesting displays so I had to snap a picture.

Features

CANOPY

Umbrella strollers are known for small flimsy canopies so I always get excited when I see a decent canopy on the umbrella model.

The G-Link canopy is really great. It folds down in front of the child and has a large SPF 50+ pop-out sunvisor that will provide your child with full protection better than on many full-size strollers.

Unlike the G-Luxe model, G-Link has a huge peekaboo window made out of clear plastic in the back of the canopy. It also has a Velcro closure.

SEAT

The seats are VERY roomy. They are 12″ wide with an 18″ seat back and a measurement of 26″ from the back of the seat to the top of the canopy.

This is one of the tallest canopy heights. There are usually no canopies higher than 26″.  Even your older toddler will be able to take a comfortable nap.

Each seat has one-hand independent recline with 4 positions including an almost flat position suitable for a newborn. Each seat can accommodate a child from birth and up to 50 lbs.

Each seat comes with an infant headrest that will provide your baby with additional head support.

For a newborn, you can lift up the leg rest and use the attached snap-on mesh located underneath the leg rest to provide a more enclosed environment. I see it as a very useful feature that will keep your baby’s blanket in place.

HARNESS

Each seat comes with an adjustable non-padded 5-point harness with a center release buckle.

HANDLEBARS

It has two vs three sets of handlebars that are located at 42″. While they are not adjustable, I think this is a good average height that should work for most parents. The handle bars are ergonomically positioned and are covered with soft foam.

BASKET

Since this is a double stroller, the basket is also double the size. You can fit a bunch of stuff in it. As with any umbrella model, the crossbar gets in the way, but your large diaper bag should fit in. I really like that they’ve combined two baskets together to give you one big basket.

BRAKE

It has a single-foot brake that is not flip-flop friendly.

WHEELS

It rolls on four EVA foam 5.75″ wheels with front swivel wheels that can be locked straight. The 4 sets of wheels vs. 6 sets of wheels that are usually seen on double umbrella models provide better maneuverability and easier push.

These wheels are designed for flat surfaces but can tackle a short distance of mommy terrain.

FOLD/UNFOLD

Folding this model is very easy. Push the button in the middle of the frame and then pull the trigger folding the stroller down. No need to use your feet. It has a standing fold and an automatic lock.

Cup holder. It comes with a removable cup holder.

Cons

-No padding on the harness. I would like to see padding and a crotch pad added to the harness to protect babies from getting scratched.

  1. You are wrong about the information about the seat back height. It is NOT 20 inches it is 18 inches, per there website. And I highly doubt the canopy is 26 inches.
