NEW! GB Pockit+ Plus 2018/2019 Stroller Review

I was blown away by the GB new compact stroller called ‘Pockit’ which is the Guinness World Records smallest stroller! It folds to a tiny package that you can put in your purse.

I thought it couldn’t get any cooler than that, but this year GB came up with a new Pockit+ Plus 2018/2019 model that doesn’t only have a compact fold, but also can turn into a travel system. Wow!

The folded dimensions have slightly increased and now are 12.6″ x 7.9″ x 15″. The weight also have increased and is now 13 lbs instead of 9 lbs. Still very light and very compact model! You should have no problem taking it on board of any airline since it’s way below the maximum size for the carry-on.

The Plus model can be paired with GB or Cybex infant car seat (adapters required; sold separately). They’ve also added a small strap recline to the seat, but you still have to use it from 6 months.

QUICK PROS & CONS

Pros Cons
Light Weight X Small Canopy
Super Compact Fold X Small Wheels
Small Recline X No Accessories
Travel System Option X No Suspension

MY RATING:

[yasr_overall_rating size=”large”]

OVERALL

I gave this stroller 5 out of 5 stars because for the most compact stroller in the world it has some great features. Just like the original model Pockit+ Plus features good size basket, adjustable 5-point harness, roomy seat, and one-step brake. It rolls on small 4.5″ wheels that are design for flat surfaces only. Taking it to the park or city streets with uneven sidewalks will be a bumpy ride since there is no suspension.

This model is perfect for parents who travel a lot and run errands so the stroller will be used mostly inside of the airport, mall, or store. It will be ok in the park with an even surface like a theme park for example. I think Mountain Buggy Nano, Babyzen Yoyo+ Plus, and GB Qbit+ Plus have an even more serious competition now.

Note: There has been no changes for 2019.

For 2018/2019 they’ve improved the canopy which can provide some shade now. It’s still small, but much better than before. The basket is still a decent size which is definitely a plus.

PRICE

This model comes in two colors and retails for around $229. I think the price is very reasonable for such a compact stroller.

Detailed Review of GB Pockit+ Plus 2018/2019 Stroller

Here is my detailed review of all the features with photos and overview video.

CANOPY

The Pockit+ Plus has a much better canopy than the previous model where it was barely there. Still it does not provide much sun protection. It doesn’t have a viewing window nor sunvisor.

HANDLEBAR

It has interesting handle bars that are looking more outward and forward than usual. They are covered with nice soft foam. As you probably have guessed they are not adjustable. They are located 39″ from the ground which is an average height for non-adjustable handle bars.

SEAT

The seat is very roomy and since the canopy almost non-existent, you can fit in a very tall child. The seat is 11.5″ wide with 21″ seat back and a measurement of 25″ from the back of the seat to the top of the canopy. The seat has a small strap recline and a zipper at the top to recline the seat even more. It can accommodate a child from 6 months and up to 55 lbs.

There is an adjustable padded 5 point harness with a center release buckle in the middle and a crotch padding.

BASKET

Comparing to full size strollers the basket is small but for such a compact stroller its not bad at all. You can probably fit your medium size diaper bag. It’s also easily accessible from the back and can hold up to 11 lbs!

gb-pockit-plus19

WHEELS

It rolls on 4.5″ EVA wheels with swivel front wheels that can be locked straight. These wheels are designed for flat surfaces only and not going to handle any other terrain.

gb-pockit-plus4

gb-pockit-plus20

BRAKE

There is a one-step brake located on the right rear wheel that will lock both of the rear wheels in place. It’s not flip-flop-friendly.

FOLD/UNFOLD

The fold is super compact. You can almost put it in your pocket! It will definitely fit into my large diaper bag. This is a great news for traveling parents who wants to take their stroller on board on ANY airlines.

Just like the Pockit, the Plus model is way below the maximum size for the carry-on. It has folded dimensions of 12.6″ x 7.9″ x 15″. Weighing only 13 lbs, it’s very easy to carry over the shoulder when not needed. There is no automatic lock, but there is a manual one. There is also standing fold which is probably not going to be used much since it’s just easier to hold it in your hands than bending down to the ground.

Here is the most compact fold.

gb-pockit-plus21

It can be also folded with the car seat adapters attached.

gb-pockit-plus14

TRAVEL SYSTEM

You can turn Plus model into a travel system! I did not see this coming. It’s surprising that such a small stroller can accept a car seat. Plus model is compatible with GB or Cybex infant car seat (adapters required; sold separately). BTW, Cybex infant car seats are one of the best and safest on the market.

GB Evoq 4-in-1 Travel System Review

gb-evoq-stroller30The GB Evoq 4-in-1 travel system has a sleek and modern design and grows with your child. You can purchase Evoq as a stand alone or as a travel system with GB Asana 35 infant car seat. This is a very simple and affordable model with a lot of great features found on luxury strollers.

The GB Evoq stroller has a reversible seat with deep one-hand recline suitable for a newborn, huge canopy, adjustable handle bar, adjustable leg rest, automatic lock, and a large basket. The two-hand fold is very easy and you can fold it with the seat attached.

The Evoq is a full size stroller that you can use everyday for running errands, going to the park or a stroll around neighborhood. Since the wheels are not very big and are not all-terrain, it performs best on flat surfaces, but can tackle some so called mommy terrain if needed.

GB Maris 2016 Stroller Review

gb-maris-stroller26One of the main new models that was presented by GB at the ABC Kids Expo 2015 aside from GB Pokit, was a model called GB Maris.

The new GB Maris is a luxury stroller with a reversible seat that you can turn into a travel system or a pram. It has a futuristic frame design with metal plates and clean lines. All of the flowing lines meet together at the round center point in the middle of the stroller. You can see the two tone gray colors in the center element and the wheels of the model that help carry the same futuristic style.

While there are six different seat colors to choose from, the frame stays grey. One of the interesting things about the frame is that the front part which includes the sides and the foot plate is made as one piece. This is a very unique feature that you are not going to see on any other stroller. This was done to avoid having any seams on the frame so the lines stay as clean as possible.

Another thing that designers did to keep the lines clean, was put in a non-adjustable handle bar. I am all for clean lines, but I still prefer an adjustable handle bar. LOL. I mean, how many luxury strollers do you know of that don’t have an adjustable handle bar? I can’t even think of one right now… Aside from that Maris has a lot of great features like a reversible seat, large canopy, one-hand lever recline, swing-away bumper bar, large basket,  all-wheel suspension, and adjustable leg rest.

GB Lyfe 2016 Travel System Review

gb-lyfe-stroller22One of the interesting strollers I saw at the ABC Kids Expo 2015 was the new GB Lyfe model. The GB Lyfe will be sold as a travel system together with Asana35 AP infant car seat. The stroller features a reversible seat that turns into a bassinet using the same seat fabric. No additional kits needed.

It also can be easily turned into a travel system replacing the infant car seat with Asana35 AP car seat. As of right now, I am not sure if it’s going to work with any other car seats. Since this model is not out yet, I only have some of the information and can give you just a short overview of the product.

The stroller features large canopy with a mesh panel, removable swing-away bumper bar, rear-wheel suspension, very large basket, and never flat EVA wheels.

The fold is super easy and can be done with the seat attached facing any direction. It has an automatic lock and standing fold.

You can get GB Lyfe 2016 Travel System in one of the two beautiful colors for around $349 on Amazon. I think it’s a good deal for a car seat and a stroller.

gb-lyfe-stroller1

Features

-Large canopy. It has a large canopy with zipped-in mesh panel that provides good ventilation on a hot day.  The canopy goes all the way to the bumper bar providing a great coverage. There is no peekaboo window, but you can use zipped mesh panel to look at your child.

gb-lyfe-stroller5

-Non-adjustable handle bar. The handle bar is not adjustable and is located 40″ from the ground. This is an average height if compared to other strollers.

gb-lyfe-stroller7

-Reversible seat seat. The seat is 12″ wide with 17″ seat back and a measurement of 22″ from the back of the seat to the top of the canopy. The seat can accommodate a child from birth and up to 50 lbs. As it happens with most reversible seat models the seat is really designed for younger kids and doesn’t have a lot of head room for an older toddler. My 3 year old could probably fit in, but it’s not going to be a comfortable ride because he legs are way to long for that foot rest. Now, many older toddlers (2.5- 3 year old) don’t really need a stroller anymore. And for those who do, parents usually get a lightweight umbrella stroller so I don’t think this should be a problem.

gb-lyfe-stroller3

gb-lyfe-stroller15

-Bassinet-like environment. The Lyfe model can also be turned into a pram by releasing two belts underneath the seat. One belt is located at the knee level and another one is at the neck level. By simply unclipping the buckles, you can turn it into a bassinet-like environment that is perfect for a newborn. I am saying ‘bassinet-like’ environment because in the real bassinet the sides are solid and the bassinet keeps it’s shape whenOf course this is not the same as a carrycot and can’t be used as a stand-alone, but this is a great option for a newborn. I wish there was a cover for the top portion of the bassinet like you can see on many stand-alone carrycots.

gb-lyfe-stroller11

gb-lyfe-stroller13

-Swing-away bumper bar. INCLUDED! There is a removable swing-away bumper bar.

gb-lyfe-stroller19

-3 point harness. It has an adjustable padded 3 point harness with a center release buckle. BTW, most strollers have 5-point harness.

gb-lyfe-stroller4

-Large basket. The basket is large and can be easily accessed from all the sides even if the seat is fully reclined.

gb-lyfe-stroller9

-Never-flat wheels. It rolls on four EVA never-flat wheels with 7.5″ wheels in the front and 9.5″ wheels in the back. The front wheels are swivel, but can be locked straight for rougher terrain. This is an average size wheels for strollers in this category.

gb-lyfe-stroller8

-Rear-wheel suspension. It helps to absorb some of the bumps.

-Parking brake. The foot brakes are located near each rear wheel and are not flip-flop friendly.

gb-lyfe-stroller18

-Easy fold. You can fold the stroller with the seat attached. The seat can be facing any direction when folded, but when it’s facing forward the fold is more compact. You can even fold it in a bassinet mode without taking it off. There is an automatic lock and a standing fold. Because of the seat designed with non adjustable leg rest, the fold is very bulky. In most other strollers with a similar fold like Uppababy Cruz, you can make the fold a little more compact by also adjusting the leg rest that sticks out.

gb-lyfe-stroller16

-Cup holder. INCLUDED!

gb-lyfe-stroller14

-Travel system option. You can turn it into a travel system by replacing the seat with an infant car seat. I don’t have information on what car seats it will work with, but I know it will be sold as a travel system with the new Asana35 AP Infant car seat.

gb-lyfe-stroller21

Cons

-Non-adjustable leg rest. Most luxury strollers have an adjustable leg rest, but Lyfe does not. I think because of the bassinet option the designers couldn’t make that part of the frame adjustable.

-Non-adjustable handle bar. The handle bar is located at a good height of 40″ from the ground, but I still would like to see an adjustable handle bar since this is a full size stroller.

GB Pockit 2016 Stroller Review

gb-pokit-stroller14This year, I was lucky enough to be able to go to ABC Kids Expo 1015 where I saw a lot of amazing new strollers for 2016. One of the strollers that blew me away was GB Pockit. Since this stroller is not out yet and I can’t do a full review on it, I decided to give you a small overview with much information as I could get so far.

The new GB Pockit model is the most compact stroller in the world. In fact, it has been named the ‘world’s smallest folding stroller’ by the Guinness World Records. How cool is that? Its folded dimensions are only 12″ x 14″ x 7″. Tiny!

Weighing only 9 lbs, this model is perfect for traveling and public transit. It will easily fit into overhead compartment of the train or the plane. It can be taken as a carry-on on ANY airline because its folded size is much smaller than the maximum carry-on size. I think that Mountain Buggy Nano, Babyzen Yoyo 6+, and GB Qbit have a serious competition now.

Super Compact Travel Strollers Side-By-Side Comparison

travel-strollers1Traveling with children is not a very enjoyable experience to say the least. After our recent trip to the ocean with our three-year-old daughter, my husband said he is not going anywhere till she is 5! LOL. Right….

We thought that by three she will have a little more patience and be able to entertain herself a little better. Nope! Didn’t like the ocean, couldn’t seat in the car for 3 hours, didn’t want to eat any of the stuff we brought, played in the sand for only 5 minutes and started to whine asking to go home.

Oh… Vacation with kids … And this was only a 3 hour drive to the ocean! Can you imagine flying with a three-year-old?

GB Qbit Travel Stroller Review

gb-qbit-travel-stroller12The GB Qbit Travel Stroller is one of the most compact strollers on today’s market. The super compact one-hand fold makes it perfect for parents who travel a lot. I think that Qbit is a serious competition for beloved Babyzen YoYo and Mountain Buggy Nano.

The Qbit is also very lightweight weighing only 14 lbs. It has small wheels designed for flat surfaces, but could handle some mommy terrain like grass or playground mulch for a short period of time.  The multi-position canopy is a decent size and will provide your child with plenty of sun protection.

The basket is very roomy and easy to access. It’s not going to fit a week worth of groceries, but it will fit your large diaper bag. This is a big plus, since baskets on most lightweight strollers are useless. Taller parents will be happy to see a tall handle bar. The fact that it’s a single handle bar makes it much easier to push with one hand.
