OXO Tot Cubby Stroller Review

OXO has presented two new strollers at the ABC Kids Expo called Cubby and Cubby Plus. Out of the two, the Cubby is a simpler model that is a little more compact, lighter, and less expensive.

This is a very practical stroller with a compact one-hand fold, a large easy-to-access basket, a roomy seat, and a large canopy with a large pop-out sunvisor.

The never-flat wheels are 6.5″ and 8.5″ which is somewhere in between the full-size and the umbrella models.

This model weighs only 17 lbs and can be turned into a travel system with the most popular infant car seats.

The Cubby could be a serious competition for Britax B-AgileBaby Jogger City Mini, and Mamas & Papas Armadillo because it’s not only in the same weight category, but also has a lot of the same features like a large canopy, compact one-hand fold, large mesh window in the back, and large basket.

Just like B-Agile and City Mini, I think it could be your ONLY stroller. It comes in three colors and retails for $299. You can also purchase a cup holder and a bumper bar separately.

Features

CANOPY

The canopy is a great size plus it has a large pop-out sunvisor that will provide your child with full sun protection. There is also a large mesh peekaboo window with a Velcro closure.

SEAT

The roomy seat has a one-hand strap recline that is deep but doesn’t go to the flat position so you can only use it from 6 months and up to 50 lbs.

There is a lot of storage aside from the basket including a small zipper pocket in the back of the canopy and two small pockets in the back of the seat that you can store diapers and wipes in. Perfect!

HARNESS

It has an adjustable padded 5-point harness with a center release buckle.

HANDLEBAR

Unlike Cubby+ the handlebar on Cubby is not adjustable but is pretty tall at 41″ from the ground.

BASKET

The basket is very large and easy to access. You can also expand it by pulling the back of the basket back. Much better basket than on City Mini.

WHEELS

It rolls on four EVA foam-filled wheels with 6.5″ wheels in the front and 8.5″ wheels in the back.

BRAKE

The flip-flop-friendly brake is located between the rear wheels.

FOLD/UNFOLD

All you need to do to fold it is to pull on the strap in the middle of the seat and it will fold in half. Because there is an automatic lock and standing fold, your seat will never get dirty. I also like that the handlebar doesn’t touch the ground when it’s standing.

TRAVEL SYSTEM

You can purchase an adapter for Graco, Chicco, Peg Perego, and Britax. There might be also other popular brands, but I only know about these for now.

  1. Hello, the Cubby stroller looks great! In my research, I’ve seen different release dates for this stroller: September, October, and June here. Any idea on an accurate release date?
