Bumbleride Flite is an amazing umbrella stroller that weighs only 14 lbs, but has a lot of features of a regular stroller. That’s right! Even though it is an umbrella stroller, you get a large canopy, roomy seat, deep recline, all-wheel suspension, adjustable footrest, and an INCLUDED car seat adapter so you can convert it to a travel system. Not many umbrella strollers have such a deep recline (many don’t recline at all) and a very few can covert into a travel system. BTW, this is the lightest stroller in the Bumbleride collection.
The seat is made out of high quality eco-friendly material that is a blend of bamboo and nylon fabrics (it feels expensive). It’s a very sturdy and stable stroller that is designed for urban lifestyle. You can take it to the mall, doctor’s office, or for a stroll around the neighborhood. For parents that travel a lot, this is one of the BEST strollers currently on the market.
While Flite will handle off-road terrain better than your usual umbrella stroller, it is NOT made for all-terrain. It has small rubber wheels that do better on flat surfaces. The all-wheel suspension system will absorb bumpy urban sidewalks with ease making it a smooth ride. Double option is NOT available for Flite.
I gave this stroller 5 out of 5 stars because it’s perfect! For once I don’t have anything bad to say. The basket is small, but I don’t think it can be any bigger without effecting the compact fold. it
The new model can be purchased at around $220. I know it might seem expensive for an umbrella stroller, but it is a very high quality and you will get a lot of great features of a regular stroller.

Pros
-Large canopy. It has large double panel canopy with a black mesh peekaboo window. The window closure attaches by noisy velcro. I would prefer to see a magnetic closure, but I don’t think they will update it on an umbrella stroller since even more expensive Bumbleride strollers have velcro.
-Handle bars. Like most umbrella strollers, Flite has two separate handle bars that are 40″ from the ground. Unfortunately, they are NOT adjustable.
-Roomy seat. It’s a very large seat that can hold a child up to 50 lb. I can’t believe the weight limit is higher than on Indie model (which is 45 lb). Just shows you how stable it is. In most cases, umbrella stroller feel very wobbly, but not Flite. The frame feels very sturdy. It is 12″ wide and 26″ high from the bottom of the seat to the top of the canopy. It has one-hand infinite recline operated by a strap system. You will need to use both hands to bring it back up. A deep recline makes it very comfortable for the baby to sleep during long walks. While it is deep, it does not go completely flat and should NOT be used for a newborn. Little babies can’t hold their heads and require some neck support, so wait at least for 3 months before putting it in the stroller.
-Car seat adapter. It is INCLUDED! You can easily turn your stroller into a travel system. While it weighs only 14 lb, it is still stable enough to hold a car seat. Love it! It works with popular brands like Graco, Peg Perego, Baby Trend, Chicco, Combi and Britax. Here is a full list.
-5 point harness. It has been remodeled for 2013. Now it has a center release button that requires some pressure. Your toddler will not be able to unlock it. This is a break away harness meaning you can remove shoulder straps and use it as a 3 point harness for your older child.
-Foot rest. It has an adjustable foot rest that can be lifted up to make it comfortable for younger child.
-Basket. It does have a basket, but it is very small. It is not uncommon for an umbrella stroller to have a small basket. You can probably fit a few baby items in there, but not more than that. What I like about it is that you can easily access it from the front. Make it convenient if the seat is fully reclined.
-Storage pocket. There is a zipper pocket in the back of the canopy. I am glad there is a pocket, but it is small. You can put small items like keys, phone, or wallet in there.
-Cup holder. There is a removable cup holder that can fit a bottle, but nothing larger than that. It is very nice that they’ve included it. You can also place it on either side of the stroller.
-Wheels. Flite rolls on four small 5.5″ rubber wheels. These are double wheels. The front wheels are swivel wheels that can be locked straight for more stability.
-All-wheel suspension system. This is great for an umbrella stroller. It will help to absorb some of the smaller bumps.
-Easy fold. Great for parents who travel a lot. It fold like an umbrella stroller. First, lift the pedal located between rear wheels. Next, pull two levers on the side of the stroller up and push the handle bars forward. That’s it. It does have an automatic lock when folded. To unfold it, just lift the levers on the side and it will unlock the automatic lock so you can unfold the stroller. No bending down!
-Shoulder strap. When folded, you can carry it by putting it on your shoulder. Nice! If you don’t want to carry it on your back, you can carry it in your hand by using a small strap on the side of the stroller.
Cons
-Non-adjustable handle bars. Like most of the umbrella strollers Flite has non-adjustable handle bars. They are located 40″ from the ground which is an average height.
-Small basket. Typical small umbrella stroller basket.
Video Review
Baby Gizmo has a detailed review. Take a look. Note: The seat is 26″ high from the bottom of the seat to the top of the canopy and NOT 27″ as they say in the video.
Updates for 2013
-Larger canopy. Yes! The larger the better. We all know how fussy those little babies are about sun getting into their eyes.
-New fabric. Before there was three different types of fabric available: ‘classic’, ‘movement’ and ‘natural’. Now, all of them are made out of natural fabric. This means that the interior of the seat is made out of bamboo and nylon blend. While the exterior is made out of recycled polyester blend.
-New colors. For 2013, just like Indie model, Flite is available in 7 different colors: jet black, aquamarine, cayenne red, fog grey, green papyrus, lotus blue and lotus pink.
-New buckle on the 5 point harness. Now it is harder to unlock.
